Can we but our tickets when we arrive or can you purchase them online? Thanks

Its best to buy them direct from DCL as the place is very busy. Often there is five or six cruise ships in port and the slots or booked up by the cruise lines, The park may re direct you back to DCL under the joint contract.

With DCL you get a taxi or coach transfer to the park in timed slots and its well organised, and they ensure there isn't over crowding. The swims are all allocated and organized well.

There is a rolling taxi service back to the pier.

I would not turn up on the day, if you do still prefer to book direct, do it in advance as its popular and there will be hundreds of cruises going there each day.

Thanks, I do not see it listed as one of the port adventures...what would it be listed as?

Thanks so much for your assistance, I did see it listed under "Dolphins" but all we wanted to do was spend the day at the beach and have lunch their. It seems much cheaper online for the day, but I understand about booking with DCL. Thanks again for your help

You can do that if you wish but from seeing the beach there are far better ones on the island and DCL tours to them.

We went to Chankanaab on our cruise in march. We did a dolphin interaction through dcl and loved it there. If you aren't doing dolphins you could easily go on your own and just get tickets at the gate. There were lots of taxis available at the port and outside the park. They have a beautiful pool area and a cute sea lion show. Beach area looks nice but the ocean entrance is very rocky. I agree with disney fantasy that if you are wanting to swim in the ocean, go elsewhere. But if you are interested in the other offerings I highly recommend it. We really enjoyed our day!

We booked directly from their website. It was MUCH cheaper than booking through DCL. We did the dolphins and snorkeling -- which was exceptional.

Thank you all so much for your help with this, it definitely sounds like a great day. Thanks again!!

I would just book through the website, it's much cheaper. I used to work on a cruise ship and never had any issues. You can also swim with manatees there! I did that and it was tons of fun! If you just want to visit a beach, I would also recommend Paradise Beach. It has a restaurant, nice pool, beach, and inflatable slides in the water! There are also TONS of all-inclusive resorts that will give you day passes. Those would include all you can eat, drink, and access to their pool and beaches.

Thanks Disney Kidd, I appreciate your help!!

One thing that I always like to check are the "what ifs". What if the weather is bad, what if we miss the port. Here is the info from their website, looks like a 24 hour notice to cancel, I think? If the ship misses the port, they give you a voucher that is good for a year, no refund. I'll pay a little more and book through DCL for the piece of mind if things are cancelled and not get charged. But that's just me.
