Don't know if this is possible, but . . .

if I book the Chankanaab Sea Lion Discovery Excursion through Disney, so that my DS (1.5 yo) can come along on the Disney Transportation with me, DH, and DD (5 y.o), could I then book a later Dolphin Encounter for the family, with Dolphin Discovery for later in the day and still be able to get Disney transportation back to the ship?

TIA

It may be possible, but it is probably way more complicated that you need it to be. You'd be better off booking one or the other -- early in the day, if possible. Then book the other on your own and just stay at the park to do it.

You have to be ON THE SHIP to do the excursion, and it's about a half an hour between the ship and the park (figure in all the walking to the meeting place on the ship, walking off the ship, down the pier, across the street, through the mall to the taxi stand, waiting for them to load the taxis, then the actual drive to the park). You have to meet on the ship to get your wristband for transportation and park admission and go with the group to transportation. However, you can return to the ship at your own pace, so you could just stay in the park and do the dolphin encounter on your own.

Once you have that wristband, you get a voucher at the park for your return taxi ride.

Is this making sense? It's kind of hard to explain. We did the dolphin encounter a couple of weeks ago and really enjoyed the experience, and the sea lions looked like a lot of fun as well.

However, I wouldn't be surprised if Disney worked out a way to arrange it for you. You may be better off booking the 2nd excursion at the excursion desk on the ship, rather than calling the 800 number beforehand. The person you're talking to might not understand all the details if they haven't actually experienced the excursion.

Thanks. :)

Glad to hear that you enjoyed the excursions.

I was trying to figure out a way not to use a taxi with the littlest one since we'd have to put a car seat in and I'm uncertain if taxis there have seatbelts for the car seat.

I thought if we used Disney transportation, they'd shuttle us and not use taxis, but if they use taxis, too. May just book everything on my own then.

Everything is taxis, even Disney transportation. Some of the taxis are vans, some are just small cars. We went to the park in a van, came home in a car. You really don't have much control over it. There weren't seat belts in either of the vehicles we rode in. They might have been there, but they weren't accessible.

I suppose you could just hold the little one for the ride over. I know that option would personally make me uncomfortable for safety reasons. Or maybe you could rent a car somehow?

Really appreciate your info.

Am now rethinking whole excursion. :sad1: Don't know if it will be worth investing in car rental.

Had thought that at least the taxi cars would have seat belts.

Thanks for all the help. :)
