this morning I chose my FPS. I got FOP for 6:40-7:40, the reason being that ROL is at 6:30. I notice that 5 days earlier that ROL is at 6:45-7:00. Is it normal for Disney to change hours for an event to later after securing FPS? My son really wants to ride FOP at night so I figured later was better.

Is your concern about the ability to do both? You should still be able to do ROL standby and easily make the end of your FOP fastpass window.

Mostly my concern is that they will change the ROL time to later than the 6:30 time slot. Thank you for your answer though; that was indeed another concern

They won’t change the time of the show as people buy party tickets too. Sometimes they add a second one, but i’ve never seen them change the time.

FOP is no different whether you go daytime or nighttime. It's in an enclosed building. If it was Expedition Everest I could understand as most of that is outdoors. If he wants to see Pandora itself at night I can understand that but FOP is the same no matter what time of day you ride it.
