Changing tickets after check in??

Right now we are booked 4 adults and 2 children, 5,3 at BLT for 7 nights with free dining. I was thinking about changing our park tickets from 6 day hoppers to 2 day base tickets to lessen the amount of money I would have to pay at the 45 day mark. Then I would have 45 days to put aside the money to upgrade the tickets once we get there.

Has anyone ever done this? Is it a pain? Plus the two other adults may want to add the water park option and we do not... Can we do different things with our tickets once we get there?? (Even though we are in the same party...)

Thanks for any input on this. I,m hoping this is an easy thing to do at check -in?

Thanks again, Merri

That's what we're planning on doing. Another thing to keep in mind is that you don't have to get the hoppers unless you actually hop. Same cost to add it on day 1 or day 6. So, you might want to see if you actually have the need/desire to leave one park and go to another. If you do, go to the ticket window when you get to the second park and add hopping then. As far as having WP&M on 2 tickets and not the others, you can ONLY do that after check-in. Have a great trip!

Perfectly OK to do your tickets this way, but remember that WDW has raised ticket prices in early August each year for the past few years. Not a huge increase, but a few bucks here and there adds up.

Any ticket add-ons or upgrades would be at the current gate price. If there is a ticket increase, and you opt to get just the 2 day tickets for now, use them once before you upgrade to bring them up to the new value of a 2 day ticket.

I always thought the tix had to be the same....can we add hoppers to two out of our four tix once we get to the park that we orginally purchased as a package?

Tickets have to be the same for a package, but you don't have to add the hopper until you plan on using it.

I believe that once you are at the resort, that the ticket options can be set up differently for different tickets by the CM's at one of the guest services windows outside the parks. So each person in your party could have a slightly different ticket. I know you can a least add different days to different parks. Ex. you have a party of three. reservation is for 5 days, but when you book you know that one person is leaving early and only needs two days of tickets. You cannot purchase up front a 2 day ticket for one person and 5 day tickets for the other two. But you can purchase 2 day tickets for everyone at time of booking, and once you are at the park and have used at least one day on the tickets, the people staying can then add their two extra days they are staying. I think you can do this with the other options, park hopping and the water parks and more option, but I'm not entirely sure about that.

Yes, once at the resort you can change them but when you purchase the package they all need to be the same.

Thanks for asking this, I did the exact same thing. I'll want to upgrade my adult childrens tickets to hoppers, but not the grandkids. I don't plan on hopping around with 3 - 7 years olds in the August heat.
