Changing Staterooms

I’ve changed staterooms once since I have booked way when, but now I am unable to. There are open rooms available for our date, I can see them when I search our cruise, but every time I click “change stateroom” I just get the loading dial symbol. This has been going on for over a week now. What’s going on? We don’t sail until November.

Is it because I’m linked up to two other accounts? That’s the only thing that I can think of that is different from the first time I switched.

I’m aware I can use a TA free of charge to switch my stateroom, but I want to be able to sign up for excursions and other things and not have to rely on them. Last time I used a TA they were only allowed access to that.

Can I call DCL and not have to sign my account over?

Help!

Absolutely, call DCL! If there is another stateroom available in your category, they can change it for you. One doesn't need to be a TA, or use a TA for their reservation, to access services through DCL's phone line.

Also, using a TA does not preclude one from doing online check-in and booking your own excursions, onboard activities, etc. In fact, most TAs don't handle that unless specifically requested to provide that level of service.

Enjoy your cruise!

The same thing has happened to my account! I’ve been too lazy to call DCL and figure out what the problem is. We have also changed staterooms once. It’s been that way for a few weeks— just a stupid loading symbol.

It’s not just you!

(ETA: I’ve used different computers, phone, iPad, safari, Firefox, chrome, “incognito” modes, cleared browser history/cache. So I guess I need to call dcl to see what the problem might be.)

We always use our own private TA. She takes care of reservation, pays the deposit and final bill and tells me when I can sign up for excursions, etc. she has nothing to do with what I sign up for on the ship, except for transfers which I always have her book.

You might try using a different browser. I've had the problem of being on the DCL site and not being able to go to a different part of the site. When I went on a different browser the problem was gone.

Unless you booked with a TA when you made the original reservation then you can call DCL and ask them to change staterooms for you. If there is a difference due because of a category or price increase, then you can pay it at that time.
But if you booked with a TA, then they need to be the one to call in for you to modify the cabin as well as any other changes.
They do NOT have to book excursions, meet and greets etc unless you want them to do so for you. And that will be based on your agreement with them.

Same thing happened to me. I could clearly see the available room online. I Live Chatted with an agent and after 45 minutes of filling out a secure form, the agent said the room wasn't available. It wasn't because it was in my "basket" but the change-stateroom wouldn't go through. So I hung up and called DCL. After a wait for a cast member of maybe 20 minutes, she was able to change our cabin in just about 5 minutes. Wish I had done that in the first place!
