Changing Southwest Flight Question

I have a roundtrip flight booked on Southwest. I was looking at flights this morning and AirTran has a much better option to Orlando than the flight I am currently on. But, I want to keep my return on Southwest. With the merger between Southwest and AirTran, am I able to change one segment of my trip from Southwest to AirTran? If so, can I change it online or do I need to call Southwest? I've looked on the site and I can't figure this out.

Did you book your flight round trip or 2 one way segments? That may make a difference. To change, when looking at your flight info, there will be a box on the right that says 'change'. Also, if the prices say 'web only' you can not change them over the phone.

Not sure when your trip is, but starting mid April the southwest site shows both SW and Airtran flights, so you should be able to just change it and select the new flight right on-line. I don't know if your roundtrip status affects this, but I thought there was a spot to choose which flights you were changing, so I think you should be ok.
