Hello, based on some good ideas from people on this forem we decided to add an extra day unto our frist DVC trip. We had ressevations for March 1-7 in a one bedroom BCV (Saturday to Friday) and really wanted to fly on a Friday (cheaper airfare and get to start vaction on day sooner.):D But those darn double the points on the weekend thing. (I really wish they had some kind of discount for people staying a week or longer!!!!!)

So I called and changed it to Friday and Saturday at BCV Studio and then Sun - Friday in a one bedroom. The extra day only ended up costing us 4 more points and I guess I can live with having to sleep in the same room as our 23 month old DD for 2 nights.

My question is how many people have done this and is the transision smooth? I am kinda worried about our food such. I am also little concerned about not having a room in the middle of they day for nap.

Thanks,

We just did this a few weeks ago, cept the reverse of yours LOL!! We were in a 1BR for Sun-Thurs and moved Fri to a studio. It worked out perfect for us!! We were a BWV and we were in preferred view 1BR, actully had aBoardwalk view:D!! We hated to leave it, but we checked out around 9 and were supposed to have a preferred view studio. When I mentioned about a check in time, they said the rooms with the best views tend to be ready later. Well, we have an almost 3 year old who still naps and we were doing MNSSHP that night, so nap took priority over nice view LOL. So I told them we would just be happy with whatever. Well, a CM came up and offered to us a standard view studio that was available then and they would refund us the points (only 2 of them but I was happy....BTW, I did not think that happened that way, I thought I just lose the points ??!!??) Anyway, things went incredibly smooth for us. We loaded up the fridge from the 1BR and loaded up the studio. If Im not mistaken I think there is the ability to refridgerate some things if need be with Bell Services??

Good luck to you and have a great trip :D

make sure that bell services know which grocery need to be refrigerator and you should not have a problem - but as the dvcfamily says - you might get lucky and have a room (unless you have a bunch of preferences) available - if you check-in early enough you should be fine - they allow check-in at 7:00 am - then you are on their list and should receive a room before 11:00 AM (check-out time).

You realize that you will make another grocery run once you have that freezer - right? If you don't have a car when you make the grocery run from the towncar you might need to get more groceries and just have bell services store them for you until you move to your 1-bedroom. they can do this.
