Changing room types?

DH and I are going to WDW for a 4-night stay in October. I was able to get an AKV value studio at the AP rate for the first, third and fourth nights of our trip. I can get a savannah view for the second night with the AP discount. How much of a hassle is it to change types of rooms at the same resort? I'm debating whether we should stay the first two nights at another resort and then move to AKV for the last 2 nights. Thoughts? Thanks!

You will have to pack up your bags, leave them at bell services, and have them brought back up when you are able to check i to the other room. There is pretty much no way you'll be able to immediately access the VS on day 3 after checking out day 2, and even immediate access on day 2 is optimistic.

I would stay at a different resort for the first two nights and then switch to AKV. If you do what you have booked now, you will have to check-in 3 times for a 4-night stay which would be a major inconvenience IMHO.

Thanks - that's what I was thinking too. As of today, I can book the second night at rack rate for the value studio. Do you think if I did that, we would be able to stay in the same room since all nights would be in the value studio?

no, probably not. both kidani village and jambo house has studio rooms so one night you could stay at kidani and the next night you might be over at jambo house.

This is inaccurate.

All Value Studios are in Jambo House. So long as all nights were booked in a Value Studio, s/he would likely stay in the same room.
