At 7 months we want to try to change our reservation to another resort, but how does it work? Do they cancel the old before booking the new, and what if after confirming of availability at the new resort, the old ressie is cancelled and someone else snags the available rooms at the new resort? I don't have enough points to have both ressies simultaneously, so what happens? Do you know what I mean? Do I know what I mean????:confused3 :headache:

Thanks for helping:goodvibes .

If you don't have enough points to hold the old reservation until the new reservation is made, then yes, the old reservation must be canceled before the new one can be made.

It is possible to lose the old reservation in the process, but it's not very likely. We do read occasional reports of that happening, but in light of the many, many, many, many reservations made, it is rare. It seems to happen most often right at the 7 month window for the very popular vacation dates, and for members who own at the smaller resorts (VWL, BCV & BWV and AKV, until Kidani opens). There is much less risk if the "old" reservation is for OKW or SSR or AKV (once it is sold out). This is my opinion (of course).

You are the only one who can decide if the risk of changing is worth the possibility of staying at another resort. Again, IMHO, that risk is small.

Thanks for the help. We are new owners at Kidani, and are trying to change 3 of 6 nights from AKV to BCV or BWV next July. I guess I'll see what it looks like when I call at the 7 mo window.popcorn::
