Changing ressie from 3 nights to 2 but...

Hi,

I booked at APH rate (when it first came out in May) for 3 nights in August but now need to change it to 2 nights due to my sister's work schedule. I called Universal Hotel and the lady on the phone said that there are now no more Standard APH rate rooms left and the only rooms available (at APH rate) are Bayside views, which is an extra $30/night.

I explained to her that I was not CHANGING the dates but is only taking one night off so it is NOT a new booking. She said that is the hotel's policy for any modification on bookings.

I recall reading somewhere on the DIS forum regarding this but can't seem to find it... can someone confirm? Thanks.

Yep, she was right. If the rates for your new dates are not available than you cannot change.

This is how many reservation systems now work. They cancel your old reservation and make a completely new one. You can try calling the hotel directly so see if they can make the change, but the reservation person can't do it.

I have changed the reservation myself online and booked it for two nights at Club Level! It was the last CL room left! The total price remains the same as the original 3 Nights Standard room. We thought it would probably be worth it since we are a party of five (2 Adults, 7, 12, 14). The kids will probably enjoy and make use of the services since my nieces and my DD14 are small but frequent eaters!

Our flight arrives at 8:30am, does anyone know if checking in this early will guarantee a CL room on the 7th Floor? I read somewhere on the DIS board that they can put you on a different floor. We'd prefer staying on the CL floor level since my DD14 can take her two cousins at times to grab a drink or a bite to eat. Or should I request that on the ressie?

Nothing guarantees it if the rooms are all full when you check in. So you will only be put in a room on the 6th floor if they have to. You could request it on your reservation and ask when checking in again.

CL at RPH is great - hope you enjoy it.

you can call and make that request be put on your reservation.

also, checking in early will help you get 7th floor.
