Changing resorts

Is there a lot of difficulty and inconvenience to spend a few nights at one resort and then move to another? Will they take your luggage to the second resort for you? For budget's sake, we were considering 4 nights at an All Star and then the last 3 nights at AKL or WL. What are your experiences?? Thanks!!

We have changed resorts nearly every trip. It is not hard. I usually go early in the day with our stuff as we have had a car each trip and move it myself. I am sure someone else has had the resorts move their things and can comment.

I check in early and have them store the luggage if necessary then join my family or go off on my own for some shopping.

This is the way we can do exactly what you are doing, enjoy a less expensive and then a deluxe resort.

If we were driving around the country we would be changine hotels often so what is the difference?

We have changed resorts many times with no problems, it was like having 2 vacations in 1! We have stayed at the All Stars and did alot of park hopping those days and then moved on to a moderate or deluxe where we would spend time relaxing at the resort! We have always moved our bags ourselves since we drive there, it is no problem! We check-in early and if the room is not ready (suprisingly, we usually get our rooms early, even with our room requests met!), just leave the luggage with the bellman!!

We're going to fly in and we're not sure if we're going to rent a car, so if anyone has any experience with having their bags moved, I'd love to hear your opinion!

We have stayed at the All Stars and moved to Port Orleans Riverside, and also Grand Floridian to the Port Orleans Riverside.

In both cases we just had the baggage services people take our bags on checkout and told them we were going to Port Orleans Riverside. They took care of moving the baggage to the next resort. We went and did our thing at the parks. When checking in at Port Orleans Riverside later that evening our bags were there. No problems at all. Very convenient.

You should have no trouble at all having them transfer your bags from one Disney resort to another.

I made the move from ASMu to AKL without a car. I brought my luggage to the bell services at All Star. I think they said I could have called and had them pick it up, but wasn't sure how that worked (how long I'd wait), so it was just as easy to drop off my luggage on my way out. Then I caught a bus to the parks. When I was done, I got on a bus headed to AKL, checked in, called bell services when I got to my room, and 2 minutes later they arrived with my luggage. Very easy!

Yeah It is really easy to switch just make sure you go from budget to deluxe and not the other way around! There is Magic everywhere but it can be a let down to go from a super nice resort to a budget.

We just split our stay POR and then the YC. They transportated
our luggage for us. Definately go from moderate to deluxe. I also
agree that it was like having 2 different vacations. We were lucky enough to check into YC at 7:30am, we didn't get our luggage until about 3:30pm but I packed a small back with our swim suits and another change of clothes. I would suggest doing that if you want to spend some time during the day at the resort.
I would split my stay again.

Sorry to hear about your wet dinner. A few years ago, I was staying at the Four Seasons in Palm Beach on a business trip, and I was caught in their lobby, waiting for the rain to stop so I could dash to my car. Without me even asking, a bell man came over with an umbrella and offered to walk me to my car. That's service!

Also, to others who asked about my conversation with the elusive Ms. Sussan, I had a very good conversation with her, and was satisified with her response. But, after leaving many, many messages for her and her assistant for 2 weeks, she only called me back after I found out who her boss was and left a message for him. As soon as I did that, I had a call back the same day.
