Forgive me if this has been posted before, but I can't seem to find it.

I know that bell services will move your luggage if you switch Disney resorts mid-stay. But what if you move from the Swan to the WL? Can you get your luggage transferred if you don't have a car?

You'll have to move your luggage yourself, since the S/D aren't Disney hotels, your luggage can't be transfered for you.

Okay - so those who have done this how did you do it then if you didn't have a car. I would also be interested in knowing too. Thanks!

I'll actually be doing this next week. We start at WL and move to the Dolphin. We plan to take a cab to the Dolphin. I've been told that they can be gotten easily and think this would be the best route. Our plan is to do this on a non park day to make it less stressful.

Yikes! I hadn't even considered this problem! We're leaving for the WL in 2 weeks. After 3 nights at the WL, we'll be switching to the Swan for 3 mights. I just assumed that guest services at WL would take care of moving our luggage for us.

To complicate matters further, we have 9:30am PS at 1900 Park Faire the morning that we plan to switch. I was just thinking that we'd check out of the WL around 8am, and then head over to the Swan later that morning to find that our luggage had magically appeared.

Any suggestions?

As other posters have said Disney will not transfer luggage to the Swan or Dolphin since they are not Disney resorts. If you do not have a car you can either take a cab, call for towncar service(which will probably be more than a cab) or attempt to move your luggage yourselves by using Disney bus transportation but that would be a major hassle since you would have to get from WL to a park and then from the park to the Swan with suitcases in tow. I did see a woman and a young girl doing this 2 weeks ago at MK, they boarded the bus with suitcases and bags and then got off at the Swan but it did not look like it was a lot of fun. One other thing you could do is rent a car the day before you move and then once you are settled into the Swan return the car. National has a rental place at the car care center near MK and they will come and pick you up or drop you off at a Disney resort. I think the easiest way will be to just get a cab. Since you have early breakfast reservations at GF why not just store your luggage with luggage services at WL after you check out of your room then go to GF for breakfast and then go back to WL get your luggage, call a cab and go to the Swan and check in.

Callling a cab is the easiest method. It also guarantees your luggage will arrive safely at the next resort since you are there to check in with it.

Thanks, DeeP! That's just what we'll do!

That actually solves a small problem that I was considering. While we are waiting for our room to be ready at the Swan, I had planned to do some laundry while the rest of the family swims at the Grotto pool. I wasn't sure I'd be able to get to our dirty laundry if Guest Services had moved our luggage. (Some people have posted that Guest Services doesn't always deliver luggage to the new resort in a timely fashion.) Now I'll just keep the "dirty laundry" suitcase (and I guess a pool bag) with me after we check into the Swan and let Bell Services deliver the rest to our room when it's ready.
