Changing Resort question

I'm sure this has been asked but I cannot find it.

We are planning a trip for early December 2005. We are going to split our stay between either the CSR or PORS and the Wilderness Lodge. When checking out of our moderate resort will disney bring our luggage to the deluxe resort?

Yes, they will do that. I'm doing my first split stay in May.

I'm wondering when you tell them that when you check out you need your luggage transferred to another resort. Should you tell them at check in? Or just call the night before and let bell services know?

I'm going to test out the luggage transfer system in a few weeks. I'll let you know how it works for me. We are starting our trip out at SSR then moving to AKL.

Hi, We were in WDW in Dec. We split our stay between Pop/Poly. The evening before we were to move to Poly, I called luggage services at Pop to arrange for the luggage transfer. I left our luggage in our Pop room and it was delivered to the Polynesian the same day, very late in the day though.

Word of warning. Pop told me they would pick up my luggage between 9:30 - 10 am. Disney would guarantee it would be at Poly by 5:30 pm. Let me tell you, it got there just after 5:30 pm, so be sure to take any important items with you for your day bag, (meds, etc.) because it was a long time to be without our luggage. Also, they would not deliver our luggage to our Poly room unless we were in the room, which was a pain. Other than that, it was a good experience.

That said, I will try to avoid split stays in the future. I know many like to do this, but to me, it took precious time away from the parks, packing and moving and unpacking again.
