Changing Reso. from Cash to Points?

We are going to Disneyland next weekend and the cost is pretty high. I would like to use my points, but I just booked the last room left. I couldn't wait because by Monday it would probably be gone. Am I able to call MS and change this on Monday or will I have to give up the reservation first and then call? Any help would be great. Thanks

MS cannot just convert your cash reservation to points. If there is availability when you call MS on Monday, there should be no problem to reserve using points. However, since that reservation was made thru the normal Disney reservation system it will have to be cancelled before it can be made availabile to MS to reserve using points. In the time period between cancelling and having the system release it to be reserved using points, you could lose it altogether (just what you hoped to avoid by reserving becuase MS was closed).
