changing reservations too much?

I called & made reservations for my June stay. I was so excited that I forgot to ask for my preferences (non-smoking & connecting rooms).

When I got my ressies on paper, they were wrong (a whole other thread), so I called back to correct them & this time I gave my preferences. But in getting them to correct my ressies, I lost the discount for one night of my stay - it was not available.

Well, after I got off the phone, I realized that I should have asked for a AAA rate for that one remaining night. Plus, I'm still debating whether to ask for a specific area of the resort or have the the room assigner surprise me.

Now I know I have every right to call & make changes, but how many times can you call to change a reservation before a big red flag is put on your file that lables you "pain in the neck customer!"?

I would not worry about being labeled a "pain in the butt". Ask for what you want. I call and change my reservations all the time as we continue to change our minds and they never seem to mind. :)

I thought somewhere I had read that you get charged a fee for changing ressies, or maybe they don't do this anymore?

The last 2 trips, we've changed our res. numerous times, changed our minds about resort, room view, etc. Never been a problem!:D

It depends on the reservation and package. For instance I just booked Poly 7/4 package. If I can or make changes from to 45 days out there is no charge, If I cancel within 45 days out $50. penalty and if I make changes less than 45 out $50 per change.
If I cancel within 5 days of arrival $200 penalty, make changes within 5 day window is $50 per change plue $10 admin fee.

outside those times you can make what changes you want if available I make several usually.

Same here - I've changed my mind many times & miracously I've not gotten any complaints, sighs, or any negative feedback. I think they really want you to be happy so you keep coming back!

Thanks for all the replies. I am one of those people that HATES conflict. The fact that I've been in Customer Service since I was 16 may also make me a little over sensitive on the subject. Thanks for all of your affirmations. As soon as I get the paper confirmation of my changes, I guess I will make some more.

I just changed my ressie for our June trip. I think I called CRO three times since I made the initial ressie. All CMs I've spoken with so far have been very accommodating.
1st call to book trip at Pop Century
Called to get AP rate for Pop
Called to upgrade to POFQ for sister's b-day surprise and got room with AP discount

McCall - I had not considered the pkg. differences, it has been such a long time since I booked a pkg. For room-only, you can make changes/cancel up to 5 days prior without penalty. After the 5 days, I think you forfeit your deposit, which is one night's room charge.

:sunny:

I will call 3 or 4 times at first to make sure I have the ressie set up correctly - non-smoking, room location, etc. After that I pretty much leave it alone unless I see something that makes me ask them a question. I feel it's better to call early than too late and have to deal with surprises. I also call every month or two depending how far in advance I made the ressie just too make sure it's still there. I usually wait to pay until we're about 3 months out.
