Hi there...well, my family was planning on going to WDW the week before Christmas but just found out my DD has a play rehearsal on the 18th for a school play in January...she can't miss ANY rehearsals, so it's not a matter of blowing it off. Anywho...

I have a free dining pkg currently booked and I am very hesitant to cancel it. With my luck, the teacher will decide last minute to NOT have the rehearsal on the 18th and poof there goes my chance at a great vacation as a really good price.

It would likely be about 2 1/2 weeks prior to arrival before we'd know 100% on that rehearsal. I realize I'd be in the cancellation period. My question is, how many times can you move a reservation and is it $50 each time you move it? I was thinking if we just reschedule maybe it's worth the risk and the $50.

Also, are there typically any good deals in the spring, like free dining? If so historically, when are they offered?

Thanks!

As many times as you need; yes, $50 each time; and can most of you go, and one parent stay home with her until after rehearsal? Or is there a close family friend she can stay with and who can put her on a plane? Or can she talk to the teacher now?

Thanks for the replies! I figured FD wasn't transferable but was hoping that another "deal" with good dates would be available if I have to move it.

I wish I felt like the teacher would understand but I think she gets pretty upset when people miss, from what I have been told. I already mentioned that DD might miss a few days around the holidays for a family trip, but she said they really need to be there since the show is in January, and it's crunch time for them. We actually have to sign a form stating we understand that they must come unless they are sick...and being in this play really means alot to DD.

The cost of flying her really adds another dimension to the trip that we aren't prepared to do. We'd not only have to buy airfare but the unaccompanied minor fee, so free dining becomes very expensive if you know what I mean.

Just really disappointed at this time...

only discounts for 2013 so far are BB's and Military discounts..

i expect 2013 early discounts to be released around thanksgiving or so.

Are there particular discounts that usually happen at the beginning of the year? And what months do they normally apply to?

Thanks!
