Changing reservation party size?

If i need to reduce a party of 4 to 3 or even 2 will this be a problem? Any chance of losing the reservation?

If you know now what the new party size will be, you can search for a reservation that size, book it and then cancel the original one. Or you can call to reduce the size.

If you're not sure what the new party size will be, you can keep the current ADR and just let the restaurant know when you check in. There's no penalty for showing up with a smaller party than booked - as long as at least one person shows up to eat there, you won't be assessed the no-show fee.

Just give them a call, reduce the size. Should be simple with a call.

I wouldn’t touch it. A party of 3 will still be seated at a four top table.

It's not an issue at all to show up with less.
If you show up with more, you basically are a walk-up and your ADR has no bearing since people purposely secure the only 4 top available and then show up with 5 or 6. But with less you're fine, we've never had to wait longer or lose an adr.

Sounds great. We are a party of 4 at this point. My wife and I and My to be then 20 yo son and one of his friends. That may change before then so we wanted to be sure we could reduce the res if we had to.

You can modify the reservation online or by calling, but only if there is availability for 3. Moving from 4 to 3 does not mean there is automatically availability for 3. I'd keep it at 4 since there's no penalty if someone doesn't show up.

It is super easy to modify your reservation on line. You can do it right in your My Disney Experience.

I've had to make reservations for 2 people when going solo. The online system will show lots of availability for 2, but nothing for 1. I just show up and it's always been fine.
