Changing reservation from 9 to 8

I made a reservation for lunch at Kona Cafe for 9 people. We will now only have 8. Do I need to call and let them know? I figure it's probably not a big deal but I'll call if it's necessary.

It probably will not make a difference if your all sitting at the same table since they don't put you with strangers. I would be afraid to change it since there is a chance your reservation could get lost and forgotten.

I wouldn't call and change. I also wouldn't worry if you do about your ADR getting lost in the system. The problem is when you call they have to be able to rebook the reservation. If there is not another table for 8 available at the time you call they will tell you they cannot accomodate the change.
