Changing points used on a reservation

Can member services change the points used on a reservation. I used points expiring this year on a May reservation and then bankable points for a September reservation. Without cancelling and rebooking can member services move the expiring points to the September reservation and then I can bank what's currently in the September reservation

You can’t swap as long as both reservations exist. However, once you cancel your May trip, you can do it yourself...

Go into your September reservation, modify it, but don’t change a thing and go all the way through to the end, and it will pick up the expiring points and free up current UY points....assuming the expiring points Are still valid for September.

Of course, you can also call MS to reallocate for you.

Maybe this don’t applies to you but I’m mentioning it anyway.

The order which points are used is this: Banked, borrowed and current UY points.

In the current situation it means that if you have a reservation later this year using borrowed points you can’t reallocate that reservation with current UY points and “unborrow” the points which currently is being allowed.

To unborrow the points in this situation a cancel and rebook would be needed.
