The wife and I are headed out to WDW for a long weekend trip Oct. 7-10 (Columbus weekend) to catch F&W and the Halloween party. We knew it would be crowded but we wanted to pick a weekend that had a Monday off for school reasons. Didn't want the in-laws to have to worry about getting kids ready for school and daycare. Now it turns out our school district took away the Columbus Day holiday so it doesn't really matter which weekend we pick. Now we are considering moving weekends since Columbus weekend looks so busy. Thinking the following weekend (14th-17th) or the 21st-24th. Would you go through the trouble to move weekends to avoid Columbus weekend (changing flights, different hotel, new FP+)? Could we switch our Halloween party tickets to another day? It won't cost any extra money, in fact we would probably save a few bucks since we would probably have to switch from AoA little mermaid to Pop. It may cost us a couple thousand Southwest points to change flights.
