Changing pick up time for Magical Express

Does anyone know if its easy to change your pick up time for DME as we are doing the Virgin Holidays Downtown Disney check in.

The flight is not until 6pm and I think they will try to pick us up at around 1ish.

We want to have some lunch at Rain Forest Cafe at DTD on the last day and would rather not be sat in the airport for 3-4 hours.

Virgin say you can get there 1 hour before but I wouldnt risk it that late but 2 hours should be plenty so I was thinking a 3pm pick up from OKW.

What do people who have done this think?

If I can remember I believe they arrange to pick you up about 3 hours before your flight, so for you it will be around 3pm not 1pm. We were able to change our pick up time in 2009 when we wanted a earlier pick up. When we received notification of our pick up time (the night before we were due to leave) we went to concerige and they arranged a different time that suited us

I thought it was 4 hours for international flight, they wouldn't budge on it for us, apparently they have an agreement, even though we were only flying to Atlanta. This was by phone, you may have more luck at concerige.

That rings a bell I think it is 4 hours. Like everything with disney I think it depends on the castmember as 100% they changed the time for us at All Star Music.

Yes I think you are correct...they get you to the airport for 3 hours before your flight, so they will pick you up a good 4 hours or so before hand. To the OP as you are with virgin holidays why don't you see the rep at the airport when you arrive, because they send you off to see them to pick up vouchers etc anyway, and check with them? Or if you just want to get to your resort asap (don't we all after a long day/flight) then they normally have a rep that you can see in your hotel or one nearby in the mornings. Also have you had the email yet where the concierge makes contact with you and asks if there is anything they can help you with?...So after all that garble what I am saying is speak to a rep

You can always get a Magical Express bus back to the airport earlier than the 4 hours before your flight time but not later (3 hours before flight time for U.S. domestic travel). Make last minute changes on or before the morning of the day before check out day, and get it confirmed that morning before checkout day before heading off to the parks.

And you should shoot to be back at your resort an hour before your DME bus time.

If your last activity in town is a meal, better to do it at the airport, inside security. There is a small food court at the far end of the airport tram line. Less anxiety wondering whether you will make your DME bus or your plane.

You are doing domestic travel if you are going to a place within the country, claiming your bags, and stopping over (not just changing planes).
