Changing park hours

Hi! When WDW changes park hours (e.g. shifting the closing time 30 or 60 minutes later than planned), does it mean that they are anticipating bigger crowds than expected on that date? I'm curious if these changes indicate anything.

I would say yes, they are expecting larger crowds and therefore are willing to pay more CMs to work longer hours, run more ride vehicles, and spread guests out more across the longer operating hours.

Noticed mid June (June 18th) AK is only open until 7pm? Do folks think this will change to 8pm or are park hours pretty set at this point? Seems really early for summer?

I don't know. All the trip reports are talking about a massive 180 degree shift in crowds in the last few days. They think likely due to schools getting out.
