Changing out the violinist for an Escape wedding

I've been pondering this for some time.

We're not violin people. Has anyone looked into the possibilities/cost of switching out the violinist for something a little more.... fun? Like a saxophone or tuba? Or even a baritone?

Disney can get you just about any kind of musician you'd like, but not as a swap for the violinist—you'd have to pay whatever the rate is for the 3-hour minimum. But I hope you do it, cuz I'd love to see a wedding with a tuba! :thumbsup2

So if the ceremony and cake cutting/mini reception is an hour or so, with an hour of photos, we could make the tuba player follow us around for an additional hour?? :D :D

What about a soloist? We're thinking about a soloist with a guitarist at the Wedding Pavilion (rather than the organist & violinist) and perhaps both or just the guitarist at the cake/champagne. Anyone have either a soloist and/or guitarist?

Just wondering. Thanks!

Oh a tuba would be fun! Great idea - especially pics of them following you around afterwards. I don't mind the organist for our wedding and the violin for the cake cutting and first dance for our Escape. However I would like a more intractive and fun music option for our private dining event afterwards in the Whitehall Room. I have read in one of the TR that one of the violinists was interactive challenging people to request a song to see if he knew it. There will only be 14/15 of us.

I paid $250 extra to sub a guitar player for the violin (which was fantastic) and I had him for 3 hours :goodvibes

We are switching out to a guitar player too. What is your review of the guitar player? thanks

We loved our guitar player (although we didn't actually talk to him). The songs we heard all sounded perfect! We both love acoustic guitar, so it was a great choice for us!

We are getting the Key West style guitarist. I feel silly to ask but is that the same thing as what you had? You used him for everything, right? walking down the aisle, exit etc

We just had a regular guitar, not sure if there is a name for it. We had him for 3 hours. He started a little before the ceremony, played all the ceremony music, than came to our reception for about an hour. They tell you that you get them for 3 hours, but it must be 3 continuous hours, so we only had him playing for about 2 hours total. (Since there was over an hour in between the ceremony and reception with pictures and transportation).

Hijack away I love this!

We wouldn't go acoustic guitar I don't think (maybe electric? :P ....) or a banjo. But this is awesome information to know!!
