Changing On-Line Checkin requests

Has anyone ever been successful at changing your online check-in requests? I have a trip coming up in a few weeks, and after talking about the requests we'd like to make on the online checking feature of MDE, we entered our options.

A few days later, we changed our minds, and the system will not allow changes...I called the Help Desk, as well as reservations, and no one seems to have access to both the reservation itself, AND the online check-in system.

I'm planning to send a fax, and also have my TA put requests on our reservation (can't do it myself since I'm using a TA), but not sure what has the priority?

Anyone know?

And WHY OH WHY can't I can't the online request screen myself...heck I can change Magic Band info, ADRs, as well as lots of other stuff up until a cut off date, of course, but once you make a selection for a room request, and hit save, it's apparently carved in stone!

That is weird, I am sure that I was able to make changes on my last online check in using a TA for a split stay. The requests that they entered though the TA were greyed out and I couldn't change them (When we went through the TA we had "king bed" preselected even though we are 4 people and don't want a king). I had to have them call and do it. But the one I entered myself it let me change. My other reservation, though, I didn't have any requests through the TA I had no problem going back in and changing. Seems like a few weeks should be plenty of time.
 
Strange...I added my two requests and saved...now when I go in, the two I added have check-marks that when I try to click on them, nothing happens, and if I try to click anywhere else, nothing happens. It would be a nice option to have a RESET button.
 
I agree, I had the same problem, tried with iPad and computer with a few browsers no luck, can't change after I have saved.
 

Same experience here. I clicked the wrong bldg preference when doing online checkin. Didn't realize until the next day. When I go in to modify it, it will allow me to check an "additional" bldg preference, but it will not allow me to "uncheck" the incorrect one.

Where can you see what was requested? I also went through a TA and went on MDE to make sure what I asked for was requested, and I can't find it anywhere- TIA!

Honestly I cant remember... I know I went to "modify check in" and it was there in a grayed out script that I couldn't unclick. I didnt actually MAKE that request, though, my requests through the TA were for a full balcony while at Beach Club and a monorail view while at Poly, both of which were granted. I dont think I could see them on MDE though.
 
Be certain what you are checking when doing online check-in. I have know this now for a few years. Until they fix it, if they fix it at all, be oh so careful.

The only way I know of to get them changed is to call the Main Reservations line. My parents have checked the incorrect boxes 4 times now, I keep trying to tell them to skip that section of Online Check In, and they have called and had the phone CM change their requests. This is one of the reasons I suggest guests call the Main Reservations Line and add any room requests to their reservation. Plus the options during Online Check In are never what we want.
 
That happened to me in April. I ended up having to call the resort directly. Also, FYI, the CM I spoke to told me that the online check-in requests trump whatever other requests you make.

By Main Reservations line do you mean the (407) 939-5277 that's listed on the bottom on their website or another number? Where do you find the resort's direct phone number? I'm staying at POP century. I'd also like to add that we need a bed rail. Thanks.

Where do you find the resort's direct phone number?

You can't speak directly to the resort. There's plenty of numbers you can find online that say they are for the resorts, but when you call them you are actually speaking to a Call Center. The CM will answer like they are at the resort that you thought you were calling and will act like they are there but they are not. Even when you hit the "Front Desk" button on the phone in your room gets routed to the Call Center.

Call and have that added to your reservation or that is actually an option during Online Check In.
 
this was the case for me in april and for my sister in september so idk if i'd call it a "glitch" or anything.
i think thats just the way it is.
neither of us bothered to call to find out why you could not change them. i didn't want to change mine anyways i just found it odd that you couldn't.

Yup, just like you said it's definitely not a glitch it's the way it is.
 
I haven't checked in yet, but we are renting points for DVC and had the owner request what we wanted. She told me not to change anything in the check - in, because it could possibly mess up the previous request. Now I will be super careful!!
 
It would be a nice option to have a RESET button.

I don't remember the number I called originally. I just know the first person I spoke to gave me a separate number to call for WL. The person that answered said it was WL. Whether that was really WL or someone somewhere else pretending to be WL, I don't know. But they were able to help me. They were also the person that told me if I previously made requests, then made additional requests through online check in, that the online check in requests would trump the other requests previously made.

When I called the resort, she said they could not see reservations until 10 days before arrival, and that I should call back then, and if nothing else, just tell them exactly what I wanted and to put a note on my reservation to disregard the online check-in room requests.

Not sure if this is because I used a travel agent, or it's for any reservation. (the MANY previous calls I made to various HELP lines could see the reservation, but couldn't do anything to it).

Same experience here with our Online Check-In Requests. CM transferred me to tech support, they couldn't fix it, transferred me to resort, got the "not til 10 days" line...hopeful when I call next week, I get somewhere with it.
 
This is the first trip I found I could change the in-line check-in. I've changed it twice. First time through I forgot to add any requests. Second time I changed the credit card on file. Every other trip it errored out when I tried to change it.

Now trying to change the reservation on-line..? That has never worked for me. *sigh*
