Changing names on tickets

Hi, can anyone tell me how to do this with SWA? I booked my husband and he can't go, so I want to change the name on the ticket to my neice? Do I have to call or can I do it myself. I haven't had any luck on their website!

You would have to call. Usually tickets are not transferable but Southwest is more liberal than most airlines.

They will not and cannot change the name on the ticket. What you can do is cancel the reservation and rebook using the name (and credit from the cancelled flight) you need for your neice.

Yes, just keep the original confirmation number. You will need that when you rebook and they ask for SW credit (which is what you will have when you cancel.)
