has anyone changed hotels throughout there stay ? we do that is las vegas.. we ususally stay at 2 hotels...

i am thinking about stay at wilderness lodge and somewhere that isnt so expensive...

We did this during our last trip (split AKL/WL) but I'm not sure that I would do it again. It takes time to pack/unpack and check in/out of the resorts.

If you decide to go for it I'd do the less expensive one first and WL last as you won't want to leave WL.

That is our favorite resort

is it.. so do you think its worth all that money ? i'm not sure since we wont be in there a lot you know

It all depends on what you are looking for. Some people commando the parks and leave no time for enjoying the resort, some people commando the parks and still enjoy all the resort has to offer (thats me :goodvibes ) and some people go easy on the parks, and enjoy the resorts.

As to whether it is worth it only you can decide that one. If it came down to not being able to go at all to WDW or just having to stay at a value resort, I'd choose a value hands down :teeth:

However if you can afford the resort and still have the budget to fully enjoy the trip then I'd splurge on the resort. WL literally takes my breath away. I feel immediatley relaxed when I walk in the doors. One trip we didn't stay there but still went over to soak in the atmosphere which is another option for you.

Good luck on your choice

thanks.. were not a budget for our trip.. just making sure its nice.. one time when we were in vegas we stayed at one of there "10 star" resorts and didnt like it.

i think we are going to stay at wl for the 7 days woohoo

thanks everyone

I have stayed in three resorts the same vacation and it does take up valuable fun time packing..unpacking..especially if you hate the packing and I do..it does give you the chance to stay at more resorts...to see which ones you love..and now I like staying in one room..unpacking and not packing again until I have to..

We split our lasrt stay between POFQ and AKL. IT was great. I packed one suitcase for the first half and one for teh second. When it came time to change resorts, I just put everything back into the suitcase and nicely packed everything the night before we flew home. We had bell services pick up everything in the morning before heading to the parks, then check in at AKL during our afternoon break. We planned dinner at Hoop Dee Do Review for that night. Everything went well with the move and it didn't seem to effect our time on the parks at all. It gave us a chance to stay at a deluxe for part of the trip, which we couldn't afford for all ten days.

I did a split stay between the Poly and AKL during my last trip. My motivation for the split stay was to try to different hotels. It was very easy to do. I simply told the bellman at the Poly that I was switching to AKL and he had my luggage transferred for me. When I checked into the AKL five hours later, my luggage was already there.

Unfortunately I did not care for the AKL and the main reason for my dissatisfaction is that I had stayed at the Poly first. In switching from the Poly to AKL, I moved from a resort with many transportation options and large rooms to a resort with only bus service and noticeably smaller rooms. I think that I would have enjoyed AKL more had I gone there first instead of the Poly.

thanks everyone!! i'm not sure what we will do... see we really dont "unpack" we just have really just lived out of suitcases on vactions lol

i know i want stay at the wilderness lodge... and i was thinking about staying at another resort..

thanks everyone

I would rent points at VWL . Check the rent trade boardto see information about doing this.

We've split our stays many times, usually between our 2 favorite resorts, Boardwalk and Poly. We're doing 4 nights at the Poly and 4 at BW again on Dec. 5.

It takes me about 10 minutes to unpack and maybe 20 min to pack, so that is not really an issue for us. I'm usually done packing before everybody is done with their showers in the morning. I have Bell Services bring up the car, pick up our luggage, put it in the car and drive to BW. Check-in at BW, get breakfast and we're off for the day. It is an early day as I like to check-in when switching resorts by 7:30.

Doing BW and Poly gives us the convenience of concentrating on MK & AK and MK resorts while at the Poly and concebtrating on Epcot, MGM and Epcot resorts while at the BW. We'll still visit Epcot and/or MGM while at the Poly and MK and/or AK while at BW, but this arrangement works for us.
