changing hotels midtrip

If the resort atmosphere is very important as it is to my family, then Its a great idea to split up your stay, although I wouldnt really do it unless I had at least 3 nights at each resort. I tried last year with a 2 day stay at carribean followed by 4 nights at WL. It was cool, but the 2 nights at the carribean beach just werent enough. It seemed like I checked in and before I knew it I was packing for the WL. This year we are doing 3 nights at the carribean beach followed by 4 nights at the AKL. Other posters hit it right on the head. It really does make it seem like 2 different vacations, especially if the resorts are really different from eachother.

We've switched every trip too. Our first trip in '91 we had a package deal through Soutwest Airlines. We were in some fleabag, practically on top of the interstate. Our third day we purchased our first DVC points with the condition we could use some points immediately. We subsequently moved to a studio at OKW and fell in love with the place.
The big trip last summer we stayed two nights at BCV, the second and third nights they were open. Then we did a three night cruise. Upon returning from the cruise we picked up DMIL and moved into a 2 bedroom at, you guessed it, OKW.
The solo trip with just DW & me in October we did two nights at OKW and two nights at ASMu.
Unfortunately the finance gods have banned us from returning this year. But! I'm planning next year's trip with stays in WL or BW and Vero Beach.

We've decided to split our stay between All Star Sports (3 nights) and AKL (3 nights). Could someone explain the logistics of the switch? Do we bring our suitcases down to the lobby of the All Star hotel on moving day and then leave them there and then go over to AKL? Will the luggage be at the main desk at AKL or will it be in our room? Thanks again for your help.

Check my signature :) We will be doing the resort switiching for the first time. I have read positive things about it on this board and our family thought it would be great to try. That way we can check out all the different resorts. It will be the first time for both these resorts.

Hope you have a great time!

Jill
