Changing hotel with Free Dining Package

Anyone know what would happen if I have the WL booked for September(free dining package),and now want to switch to Poly. Would we lose the free dining and just start from scratch and build a new package, or can we just pay the difference in rate and still have the free dining?

I would think you couldn't make any changes since it's now within 45 days and there may be restrictions.

Don't know for sure though.

No changes? They can't tell me I can't change hotels... That's crazy. I'm sure I would have to pay a change fee which is fine, but I just wonder about the meal plan. I guess I will call them when we decide if we are definately changing.

I didn't mean they won't let you change at all. I meant without losing your package. Hopefully it will work out for you.

Yes you can switch resorts and keep FD, I did it last week...however a FD room must be available. As you probably know, there was a limited number of rooms opened up at each resort during FD. The CM told me the only way I could switch and keep FD was if;

1. The FD rooms are readily available (resort FD rooms were not booked up by the end of the promo)

2. Another FD package cancels during the dates you need

3. FD room opens up (person transferred to another resort) during the dates you need

I happened to be at WL and wanted to switch to FW Cabins. After calling many times the CM kept telling me they were not showing as avail with the promo. After this last time calling, the system showed as someone (with FD) cancelling thus I secured a switch. Now my WL FD room has opened up for someone else with FD to take.

About the fees associated with switching....this again is what I was told:

1. Prior to 45 day mark, no fees to switch

2. After 45 day mark, no fees if the package price increases or a $50 fee if the package price decreases.

Hope this makes a bit of sense since it can be completely confusing...never want to go through this again!

Actually they can do whatever they want. 1- they can tell you theres nothing available at the poly AT all. 2- theres no free dining rooms at the poly. Sorry but your chances of being able to change resorts and keep free dining are slim to none
