Changing home resort points used for existing ressie?

I made our ressies for this June a while back, and just realized that I messed up when I told them to go ahead and use my VWL points first, then SSR points to complete the balance. I need to make ressies for December at VWL and I realized that I can't until 7 month window because I used those points already. Can you change which resort your points come from for an existing resort? I should have used SSR points first and I would have had enough left at VWL for December.

Since you used points from two different 'home resorts' for your June reservation, it's obvious you made your initial June reservation during the 7-month window, thus you were not using a 'home-resort' booking window.

You can reallocate those points as you described.

Reallocation is not possible if one uses home resort points at 8-11 months, and then wants to reallocate that reservation to non-home resort points at 7-months....

As long as there isn't a wait list for the June reservation. Then you go to the bottom of the waitlist. You can't just swap out the points. You cancel the first reservation and rebook.

Yes, it did work out! I wanted to add a night to the beginning of our June trip, but VWL was not available, so I waitlisted for that one. Member services reallocated my points used to book June, and booked my trip for December at VWL so I'm all set with points left over!!YAY!!
