Changing guests

Hi all - I don't know if this belongs here or the DVC rent/trade board, but I thought I'd start here and see if the mods move me.

I'd like to rent DVC points for a *. Unfortunately, the occupants of that villa will change mid-trip. I will be there the entire time with my two sons. My sister will be there on days 1-3 and then she'll fly out, and my husband will join us for days 4-6. I'm getting information that isn't possible on a DVC rental, because the certificate has to list all of the occupants and you can't add someone (or add DDP later in a trip for a later arrival) like you can at resorts.

Is it possible for me do this? Is the problem with the renter or with DVC MS? Any help would be greatly appreciated - I'd love to rent points for my stay.

Sounds like your best bet maybe two separate reservations!

What you would need are two reservations that are linked so you can stay in the same room.

This can be done and you would then be able to add the DDP to both reservations and/or to just the first part or second part.

Having said that, if you are renting points, it is completely up to the owner of the points if they want to go through the trouble of doing this or not.

With the new rules that the DDP has to be paid for when it is added to the reservation, there may be some owners who simply don't want to get in to that when renting.

On a side note, you may want to take out the name of the resort as you are not allowed to post details about renting in a post, except in response to a post in the Rent/Trade board.

General questions are fine here on the boards. We do not allow details (in regards to renting) as far as resort name, villa type, dates, etc. Your posting was edited a bit to remove some further details.

I agree with the two reservations!
