I have a reservation at BOG breakfast at 8:05am and 8:25am one morning. Both reservations are for 4 people.

The 8:05am group doesn't need it anymore, so I want to swap the 8:25am people in there and then cancel the 8:25am one. Is there a way to do this? We are all linked on MDE.

When I click "update" it just tries to search for the reservation again and nothing comes up because the restaurant is booked up that morning.

I tried calling dining and the wait was 90 minutes. I'm hopeful this can be done online.

Thanks!

I'm not sure it's necessary. At every other restaurant in Disney, they don't care who actually shows up, just that you do. Heck they don't even care of the total number of people show up. As long as you use the right name when you check in, that's it, they don't check anything else. Now if you want to make ADRs for those other people at a conflicting time, I guess it would matter but if that's not the case, I'd just cancel the one you need to cancel and go about my day.

On the website, there should be an option to "Update Guests" below Change Reservation and Cancel Reservation. You can't change the lead guest, but should be able to change anyone else. You don't really have to, though.
On the app it's "Update Party".

Have the 825 group check in as the 805?

Or just have the 825 group show up at 805?

Thank you everyone. So, they aren't really tied to their magic bands? How are they allowed to get into the park before the regular day guests? These are PPO meals.

If I cancel the 8:25am and have that group check in at 8:05am instead, would they be able to get into the park before it opens?

I was able to update the guests on the earlier reservation and cancel the unneeded one.

thanks

All guests are allowed entry into the Main Street/Castle hub area beginning around 7:45am on a 9:00 opening day

In all the years we have gone to WDW, they have never asked for the names of the guests, just is your entire party here?
The only exception is Victoria and Alberts, where they ask for the names ahead of time and have customized menus for each person.

I’ve had my magic band scanned when we had PPO reservations

We never do PPO meals, so that may be why it never happened to us.
But, makes sense that they would scan your MB to be sure you have a reservation and not just trying to get into the park early.

It is/can be tied to MBs but they don't ask for names. We often make ADRs for us and our friends and I only have one of their accounts tied to mine so that it ends up in her account so she can see and schedule appropriately. But her husband just relies on her so I just have him as "guest #4". Yes, they will probably want to scan a band to let you in the park but not necessarily every person, just the lead one to make sure there is an ADR. Sometimes I even forget to tag her and when they try to get into the parking lot wherever we're dining they just give my name (lead name) and the guard can look it up to verify that there is an ADR. So if they're not with you, that might work; if they are all with you, just tell them that you are the lead and they are not linked to it but are part of the ADR group.
