A couple of weeks ago, my husband and I were able to take a short weekend trip to WDW. We used our points to reserve a studio at Saratogo Springs. A couple of days before we left, I was reviewing my points and realized that since we won't be taking any more trips this use year (other then the upcoming one in December), I would be losing a few of my points. So, when we checked in, I asked if it was possible to change from the studio to a one bedroom. They checked with someone in the back and found that we would be able to (for additional points, of course.) We were so pleased. :D We really prefer the space of the one bedroom, but when I originally booked, it seemed like "overkill' for just 2 nights. However, losing points is a very sad story, so we really enjoyed that room.

We really liked the short walk to DTD. We just went to one park, EPCOT, on Sunday. Since we are going back in December for 5 nights, the short trip was sort of an "appetizer".

A one bedroom is designed for two people only-so I don't understand what you mean by overkill. We once booked a grand-villa for 5 adults so everyone could have their own bathroom-that be over-kill but two for a one bedroom is just right. Glad you enjoyed your short vacation. :cool1:

Oh, Oh-just to warn you! You may never want to stay in a studio now. Your scenario is almost identical to ours the first time we stayed in a 1 BR. Realized we had "extra" points, and rather than bank them, we decided to splurge on our upcoming trip to HH fortunate enough to get a 1 BR a few weeks out. Since then, the only time DH and I stay in a studio is on weekends to save points if we have to.

We anticipate the same thing; DW and I stayed in a Studio on our first trip "home". Now we're staying in a 2BR (w/another couple) and I know that we'll probably never go back to a Studio again.

Beware the one bedroom.

When we bought we said a studio would be more then enough for the 4 of us, after all it was so much nicer then just a plain Disney hotel room, then the first trip, the only thing we could get was a 1 bedroom (last minute trip in holiday season) so we had two years worth of points and did it. That was 4 plus years ago, we have NEVER yet stayed in a studio.
