Changing from 2 day passes to three day passes

Hello everyone!!

The first week of April we are traveling to the parks with a group of 80! Yes 80. My son’s high school marching band will be performing in the Disneyland parade April 5th. My husband and I are driving the equipment trailer. We will have two days in the park with kids, but our days will be busy with our equipment management for the parade as well as the clinics they will participate in. SO hubby and I decided to stay an extra couple days to get some park time. I’m so freaking excited I haven’t been to the parks in so long!!!! I already have my 2 day tickets with genie+ For the extra days.
We found out yesterday that the flight the kids will be on changed from landing at 9am to landing at 4pm. So we will have several hours that we can spend at Disneyland, but we will need to get an extra day/reservation. Does anyone have experience with upgrading to three day pass with the new reservation system? Can we upgrade it online? Or do we need to call?

We just did this - 2 day PH to 3 day PH so we could go on the arrival day. They do not make it easy! It has to be done over the phone. I called at 7am PST and barely waited at all. They actually make you buy the 3 day ticket online while on the phone with them, give them the number, and then they refund you for the 2 day ticket. They told me I'd get the refund in 7-10 business days, but I actually got it much faster than that. May depend on the credit card, though.

Side note - if the first ticket was a parkhopper, the second ticket must be as well.
