I booked a R/T with Southwest a few weeks ago and I want to change the flight home now that prices on the nonstop have come down. I have read on other threads that there is a spot on the SW website that will allow me to do this, but I just want to make sure that I will not lose my flight to MCO or the price I paid when I make the change because I did not book as two separate reservations. I also did not book any ding fares and this new price is not a ding either.

Thanks!

Under Travel Tools on the top right corner of your screen, select Change Air Reservation. Enter your confirmation number and name of a member of your party. Check which of the itineraries you want to change and click Continue. Do your search like normal and follow the steps on the screen to make the change. It's quite simple to do. Congratulations on getting a better time and lower fare! SWA really does make it easy to make changes to only one part of your itinerary.

OK, one more question. I went through and rebooked a nonstop and received a $22+ credit. Can I use this credit to book the early bird check in?

There is no fee to make changes, BUT you do pay whatever the new fare is .... be it the same, higher OR lower.

If i have early bird checkin on origional flight and then change flight
doe's early bird checkin get transfered to new flight?

No, you can't and remember that credit must be used within one year from the date of the originally booked ticket.

Thanks! It is a small credit, so I am OK with losing it because I don't think we will fly again by next March but I am happy to have a nonstop now and not have to worry about a short connection time with the kids. :goodvibes

Your EBCI stays with your confirmation number, so as long as that doesn't change, your EBCI stays even if you change flights under the same confirmation number. Does that make sense?

Your EBCI should stay with you since you aren't canceling the reservation at all. You'll have the same confirmation number =EBCI stays with you.

I had to make a change to a reservation before and that's what the SWA rep told me!

Good Luck!

I've had to change my flights twice now, and the EBCI has always popped up for my flight. Shouldn't be a problem.

what would you pay if it was lower?:confused3

if the rate for the flight that you change to is lower than the rate that you originally booked, you get a credit associated with your confirmation number. keep that confirmation number even after you fly. with that confirmaion number you can apply that credit to a future flight purchase. (up to one year from the date of your original flight)

i used to think that the credit got reinstated back to your credit card. it does not. i also thought that maybe the credit was associated with your rapid rewards account (that you needed to have a RR account to get the credit and it was associated with your RR account number.) it does not. you get the credit associated with your confirmation number.
