Changing CS credits to snack credits?

I apologise if this has been asked before, but I just wondered if this is possible? i heard a rumour that you can exchange 1 CS credit for 3 or 4 snack ones but i'm not sure if it's true. I'm just wondering because i'm not sure we'll want so many CS meals (going offsite some days to Universal and such and have TS dinners at Disney planned for most nights) I have some CS breakfasts planned but am not sure we'll want something that heavy on all the days I have them down for, we might prefer a bagel or cinnamon roll or something.
TIA!

When I was there last week they would allow you to change on Table service into a counter service with 2 snacks. you had to get the cs and snacks at the same time. They wouldn't let you turn 2 cs into a TS and they won't let you use just snacks for a CS(we tried, we ended up having 7 extra CS that we didn't use)

Prior to the recent offer (1TS -> 1CS+2snack) some hotel front-desks used to allow guests to convert TS into CS on a one-for-one basis, towards the end of their visits (presumably at a point which they could be sure you wouldn't want to convert them back, since that's not possible). Perhaps your hotel front-desk would be willing to convert CS credits into snack credits (again, I'd expect, on a one-for-one basis, just like the TS to CS conversion before). It cannot hurt to ask.

We were at Pop Century last week and were allowed to convert one CS into 2 snacks & a drink on our last day. They said this wasn't how the plan was designed & had to do an override to allow it, but they were very nice about it. We just couldn't eat another whole meal!

Wow! That was very nice of them Katie. :goodvibes

DH and I were staying at OKW for 10 nights.
His mother and Aunt were joining us for only 7 of those nights. So, DH and I had to pay for the additional nights credits. We figured we'd go to Cali Grill and/or Yachtsman Steakhouse and have nicer meals using double credits ...

First let me say ... we really enjoyed the DDP and it was a ton of food!

However, due to some Disney mistakes, and DH's mom and aunt not understanding the program, we ended up with 18 CS credits left for two people to use over two days. (They were going to Olivia's (TS) for breakfast and eating only oatmeal. Then another day, they got bananas and waters. The castmember charged it to our room, not snacks).

I asked if we could exchange the CS credits for snacks and was told repeatedly "no way ... nada ... thank you for playing ... bah bye now ... " which was crappy considering that I've read online where many people have been allowed to do it. :sad2:

We gave our room key to a friend of mine and said, take your family and/or your office out to lunch. I'd rather someone use the meals than for my money to go to waste.

The inconsistency with this "exchange" availability is unbelievable.

***All this said, we enjoyed the flexibility of the DDP. We were able to treat friends of ours out to awesome meals that they couldnt have normally afforded. And, yes, we'd do it again (we're just not taking his mom or aunt again :rotfl: )

I was there 2 weeks ago and they would not allow it at POFQ. Had leftover CS wanted to swap to snack and they said no. Tried asking a few times. Was quite bummed. Dont understand it, they save money.

Just curious... did you give them the key card on the day you checked out? Because the credits expire at midnight that day.

During the free dining promotion, Disney allowed guests to exchange TS for CS + 2 snacks. I believe this option is no longer available.

Well, first, while you're :rotfl:, I don't see why you wouldn't take them with you on another trip - just make sure, if you purchase the DDP, that everybody understands clearly how it works and how to use it.

As for consistency, it appears all restaurants ARE being consistent. During the seven weeks when a lot of people booked packages with the free DDP, there were some official-but-temporary changes made to to the plan to accommodate everyone, especially Guests unable to get seating in table service restaurants.

Other than that, the DDP has worked pretty consistently. Sure, an occasional server might let someone in a resort food court use a counter service credit for a snack or two, but for the most part each credit is used/applied as prescribed. In addition, based on other posts here, Olivia's is notorious for adhering to all restrictions - even those they create on their own (i.e. no take-out meals, big arguments over even getting doggie bags).

Trust me ... there were other issues of why I wouldnt want to travel with his mother again. His Aunt ... I would take to the ends of the earth and back. She was such a joy.

As far as the dining plan goes, I couldnt have explained it any more than I did ... I gave them the Disney brochures, I gave them a "simple" document that I personally typed up, and I took them through the parks/resort and explained the difference in counter service and table service. They just didnt "get it" ...

Keep in mind that many CS locations basically operate such that you can effectively use a CS credit for three snacks, one as "entree", one as "dessert", and one, effectively, as "beverage". It isn't all of them, but some clearly do. Ask! You may be pleasantly surprised what you can use your CS credits for.
