Changing Cabins

Hi!

We are sailing on our very first Walt Disney Cruise on The Wonder on January 8th. We have a category six cabin (5642) booked right now. I noticed online that there are three category six cabins that are now open on deck six. The cabins are: 6604, 6630, and 6646. Do you think that it matters which deck we are on? I would love to hear from anyone that has cruised before. I know that the Buena Vista Theater and other attractions are located on the fifth deck. Would it be better to be on the sixth deck? Are you allowed to change cabins? Is it easy to change cabins? Thank You! John

IMHO - Deck 5 is every bit as good as deck 6.


+ The Club and the Lab are on Deck 5 (if you have kids), so is the Buena Vista Theater

+ You are closer to the waterline in case of rough seas (a "little" less rocking)

+ Your muster station (lifeboat is very close - God forbid)

- 6604 and 6630 should have unobstructed / clear glass verandas. Not sure about 5642 and 6646 (metal railing or not???).

I promised myself that I'd never sail if I didn't have Deck 5 AFT - Stateroom 5622, to be exact.

Deck 5 has great verandahs, and are lower to the water so you don't get all the motion of the ocean! Just down the hall from the kid's clubs and theater - One floor up from your Muster Station, and just floors up or down from the restaurants! Who could ask for more!!!!

We did get stuck and have to go to Deck 7 in October since Deck 5 Aft was not finished after drydock - the motion was HORRID and I hated being that high up. Of course, Disney calls this an "upgrade" but for my money, I want Deck 5 Aft, Category 6 - Stateroom 5622!!!!!!!

I am a major deck 5 aft fan (favorite stateroom is 5650, just a few doors down from you). As the others have said, deck 5 is very convenient. But I think that you might have a solid metal verandah...not sure, as I don't have a deck plan handy, but if you're past the nav verandah rooms, then you do. If you wouldn't like that, you might want to switch to deck 6. Personally, I don't mind those verandahs and I love the aft area on deck 5 because it is extremely quiet. Deck 5 or Deck 6 both sound a lot better than being in rainy Boston right now!!! I've been on both decks and don't think it makes a bit of difference!

I'd cruise in the engine room if they'd let me. I don't care what room I'm in, just so long as I'm on either the Disney Magic or the Disney Wonder.

So far we have been on deck 7 for our cruises (cruises 3 & 4 coming up) and I like it. The motion wasn't bad to me but I was worried about my wife the first cruise. She did fine though and never got sick or even queasy. The ship doesn't rock much. You want to rock & roll try a US Navy warship!
