We have a breakfast CM ADR for 3 people currently, but I think we will only need it for 2 people. I don't want to lose our time because no other times are available when we want it for, so will it be an issue if I call and ask to change it to 2 people? Or would it be better to show up as 2 and say the third couldn't make it? I wasn't sure if that would affect the credit card guarantee as far as no show charges go. Thanks for any input!

They won't charge your card for a no show, at least they didn't when only 2 of our party of 6 showed up to CP our last trip.

You can call the dining hotline though and they can downgrade your reservation without losing your time. I've done it before, easy peasy. At least that way if you for some reason miss the reservation you won't be charged for the 3rd person.

You can just show up with 2 and you won't be charged for the other person. As long as one member of the party shows up to honor it there is no charge. You could try calling to alter the ADR to 2 and if they can't without changing times then don't!

You should be able to call and get the number adjusted, they can *sometimes* do this (e.g. not all dining CMs can, or will, but some may). Alternatively, as the others have said, showing up with 2 instead of 3 won't be a problem.

There is absolutely nothing to be gained by trying to call to reduce your number. At WDW, you are not reserving a specific table. Instead, you are seated after arrival at the next available table for a party of your size. So if only two people show up, you get the next available table for two instead of the next available table for 3. You aren't messing up the restaurant's reservations system by keeping your current number. At a traditional restaurant, they would hold a table for 4, expecting your arrival, and when only two people show up, it shifts things around, as they now need to either have two people occupy a table for 4 and potentially lose revenue, or have you wait for what could be an extended period of time for a two-top to open up. But Disney does not work that way. It's not as if the hostess is going to say: "Gee, Mr. Jones...we had this beautiful table for 4 all set up for you and now you have messed everything up." Rather, the hostess will now say: "We will seat you as soon as a table becomes available" which is exactly what she would have said if you had shown up with three people in your party.

If you call and try to rearrange the deck chairs, odds are that the person on the phone will try to find a table for two, and if they do, it won't be at your current time, which could mess up your schedule. The ADR call center is not in the thick of things and they tend to botch up more than they correct.

Unless it's CRT or a dinner show, don't bother with calling. There's no penalty at all for showing up with one fewer guest than you reserved.
