We arrive in WDW on the 16th & have an ADR at LeCellier @ 8:05. I have been trying to get it earlier, but no luck. The day of, should I just go to the restaurant & try to get earlier, or do I call the same Disney dining number?

You can do both and I think trying even each day while you're there with a call to the dining line is a good idea. We were able to get Boma reservations on an alternate day on our last trip when we decided we need to skip a day with table service. It was suggested to us for Le Cellier that you could even call the restaurant directly on the day of your reservation closer to your timing in case they have had cancellations or they anticipate (if timing has gone quickly that day) that you can get in earlier. If you have a cellphone with you in the parks you should program in DDining and the restaurant number (if you haven't already!) ;)

I would try both approaches, although Le Cellier sometimes doesn't even keep a waitlist. Sometimes they are so overbooked they tell you to just go away (nicely, of course) -- they won't even take your name.

To us, however, 8 PM is the perfect time to eat at LC. You miss the fireworks, but who cares! You'll see them another time. And usually, a late ADR like that gives you a relaxed meal when the restaurant is not as crowded and frantic as it would be earlier. You also are leaving after the big crush of people leaving the fireworks, and it's a beautiful time of night at Epcot. We often walk out the long way, just to enjoy the atmosphere when the place is almost vacant.
