I need some help everyone. My wife is concerned that our daughter won't like the menu selections at Kona. I am considering changing it to Raglan Road, but I noticed that it is listed as a Pleasure Island restaurant. Do I need to buy admission to PI in order to get to this restaurant?

Thnkas in advance for your help.

No PI admission required. It's just outside the PI complex, although I'd still consider it a "bar-like" atmosphere. Depending on what time you plan on going, it can get a bit raucous there.

Nope it is outside of Pleasure Island. BUT, let me tell you I went to both Kona and Raglan when we were there last November. It was my first visit to both. Kona was GREAT - we had 9 people including a 2 year old with us and wow did we eat and there was a great selection. Raglan he other hand....I will NEVER go back to. Service was TERRIBLE (do a search, others have found the same) and the food wasn't my taste at all. OK - maybe I am just too American - but the shepards pie had no taste at all. We had a scallop appetizer and wow did it smell. I'm from New England so maybe just use to fresh - but when the scallops came and I could smell "fishy" from 3 feet away I new I wouldn't even bother to try them. My vote.....KONA all the way!!!

I try not to be negative, but I second the previous poster's comments about both Kona and Raglan Road.

Kona is one of my top-three restaurants at WDW - we always eat there at least twice per trip. They have a great menu - I bet there's something for everyone in your group.

We went to Raglan Road for the first time in October - it was the only truly bad meal of our 8-day trip! I ordered fish and chips, and it was cold, kind of soggy, and very unappetizing. Plus, it was so noisy, we couldn't hear each other talk. It was the worst meal of my 5+ WDW trips. (Although I do read positive reviews from some posters -- any restaurant can have a bad night, but this was truly awful.)

My recommendation is to stick with Kona.

I agree....stick with Kona. There are plenty of choices for picky eaters and they are very accommodating if you want to substitute.

Now I think of Raglan Road as right on Pleasure Island??? But at any rate, there is no longer an admission charge for PI. Instead, the clubs charge an entrance fee or cover charge or something of the kind. No charge for RR. But after enjoying our first few times there, we' re giving it a break. Very slow service our last two times. The food has always been good though.

I sit at the bar at Raglan Road and order off the menu. No service issues. The bartenders are great.

I had a scallop appetizer thing last Sunday and I thought it was good. Except for the sauce which tasted like mayonnaise.
