We have had breakfast at Akerhaus, mostly for the princess's interaction, I did enjoy the simple buffet, and the served items. Service was great. Overall I thought it was good.
O'hana's for us unfortunately has been taken off of our list. For several reasons,
First off, due to being able to see the fireworks you have a lot of guest sitting waiting to see the fireworks, so there is always a back up on the tables being turned, So do plan for a wait, and not 10 or 15 mintues, like a hour or more, even with ADR's, If you have a early dinner ADR plan on being rushed in and out, as the server are trying to turn the table before the table sitters for fireworks hunker down.
Second reason the selections on the menu are not varied at all, and pretty boring and not well done. And trying to get refills on items is almost impossible. I have a coconut allergy, and there is only the pineapple coconut bread, and no other bread choice. As well peanut sauce is pushed out with everything so if this is something that you or someone in your party has a allergy to this might not be the spot for you, the sauce is everywhere and you can not get away from it.
Thirdly the service the last time we went was absolutely terrible, I ordered a glass of wine and all I got was water, then the server did charge us for it, when i told him I did not ever get it, even though we asked twice about it. He said Oops, well sorry, I'll go get it now, I was like we are all finished eating, Ok he said and was gone.. We ended up having to ask for another server for help to see the manager, to get the wine taken off the bill. That was the last straw...
I would check out the buffets that offer more options, so that everyone can find something that enjoy. Tusker House is really well done and it's over in AK. Biergarten is another really fun spot to eat and see the show, that's in Germany over in the world showcase at Epcot. While not a buffet what about SCI-FI at DHS, super fun...
Have a wonderful trip.
