Changing a SW Reservation

I am sure this has been asked/answered a 1000 times...

In the past I have changed reservations to get the lower fare, can you change to a completely different date? Or is it only allowed within the same dates?

I was able too, but it cost me $11.00 extra, which wasn't bad. However, I changed another reservation and was charged nothing. (I just changed the time.)

SWA is the most flexable with if cancel change policy due to not having to worry about seat assignments just head count.Usually the only fees you pay are the flight increases or the credit you get with the lower prices.
