I'm a newbie, and I need some help, please. Here's my situation.
I have a 2BR/2Q at BCV reserved for a Sun.-Fri. stay in October. The ressie was made with 74 banked points and 86 current points. I need to change to a studio for the same dates, but I don't want to risk losing the 2BR reservation in the process by canceling & starting over. I do have enough current points to book the studio and leave the 2BR intact, but wouldn't I want to get the banked points back (so I can use them for the studio ressie) before using current points? Would I do this by canceling enough 2BR nights to get the banked points back, book the studio with those points, and then cancel the rest of the 2BR? I'm so confused! I need to do this tomorrow so that I can call back Tuesday to make a December reservation!

I didn't realize I couldn't cancel part of the reservation--that's a pretty important bit of information
Anyway, I was able to cancel the 2BR (5 nights) to get my 160 points back and get a studio for six nights instead. I did have the CM check first to be sure there was studio availability, and, in banking the studio, she used the previously banked points first. No problems at all!
