Changing a reservation

I understand that if my new ressie's points are lower than the original ressie, the balance will go back to the UY of the original reservation. (In my case both are the same UY) My question is....Can you bank those points or do they have to be used within that UY??

As long as you change it 31 days or more before arrival, they go back to the use year they were reserved in. If you are within the banking deadline, you can bank if they are current year points (not if they were banked or borrowed for the original reservation).
