Changing a reservation...

I would like to change our existing reservation from POR to WL. Would you make a new reservsation and cancel the old or just call and change the existing reservation? I have read about people having problems when they changed an existing reservation so I was wondering about your experiences doing this.

I have just done this, I just changed my existing reservation. It worked fine for me. Of course, I haven't left for my trip yet

I've changed reservations waaaaaaay too many times, but I've never had any problems doing so. The nice thing about changing an existing reservation is that you can apply any $$ you've already paid - you don't have to wait for any refunds.

We have changed our original reservation 4 times with no problems at all. They really don't like for you to make a new res. and then cancel the other. If you do it that way they have to refund your deposit and charge your new deposit. If you just change your reservation, they can just move your deposit over to the new reservation.
