Howdy all! We have our honeymoon booked for 5 days at the end of May, and were planning on doing a day in each park plus an extra day at MK. It's looking more and more like that trip won't be happening, so I just priced a trip at the end of July and found that we'll be able to get a couple extra days for the same price (or maybe even cheaper with free dining!). How would you guys spend 7 days at WDW? Extra days at each park? Resort days?

To us, 7 days is easy to fill at WDW. We like having park hoppers, visiting DS, and visiting the water parks. If you have any interest in water parks at all, Disney's are the best. We like having an afternoon break at the resort with park time in the AM and evening/night, especially in the summer when it's super hot. It helps to nap during the hottest part of the day. We are also big fans of TS restaurants, and those take time.

We had our honeymoon at WDW in 2010. We live in CA, so DLR is our home base, but we fell in love with WDW on that trip! It's such a fun place for a honeymoon! You will have a great time.

What resort are you staying at? If you're at the Epcot resorts, gets park hopper so that no matter what park you do during the day you could always end your night with fireworks at Epcot and just walk back to your room after!

Seven days is easy my families trips are 10 days each trip. You can easily do 3 days at Magic Kingdom. We have one day that I dedicate to taking pictures at various hotels while the girls shop. And we do 2 days at Hollywood. Many people do not think its worth it but with the rides 2 days allow you the chance to hit all the rides. To be honest we usually find out that even with 10 days we miss a few things.

Are you newer to WDW? If so, it would be very easy to fill an extra two days at the parks. If you weren't already planning to do so, I would perhaps recommend hopper passes too. We like starting our day in one park, taking an afternoon break and then ending the day in a different park.

That being said, it is your honeymoon and will you really be wanting to spending full days in the parks every day of your trip? Those long days can be exhausting, even for the fittest of people out there. :) You might end up in the cycle of Get up - go to the parks - come back to the room exhausted and just pass out. I would perhaps recommend taking one day off in the middle of the trip just to enjoy the resort you are at and perhaps enjoy some of the other non-park options that WDW has to offer.

Also, end of July will be HOT. So, you will want to account for that. If you've never been to Florida in the Summer, it can be brutal if you aren't used to the heat and humidity.

Congrats on the nuptials and happy planning!

I agree with others that if you haven't considered it, a PH would be good. Way back when we first started going we would go for 7 days (6 nights, 7 days). That way you can be a little more spur of the moment with you afternoons. We aren't planners at all so we don't do any advance FPs or ADRs just, day of but I can see how if you didn't go often that wouldn't work. Maybe plan your mornings, go back to the resort for a swim, nap, "rest" (its your honeymoon is why rest is in quotes) then head out to wherever you want for the evening.

Assuming you're thinking of staying the whole time, and the only question is wether to buy a 5 day pass or a 7 day pass, then take this into consideration. 2 Adults at the end of July (July 25th start date randomly chosen) is $1198.90 for a 5 day PH, and $1279.34 for a 7 Day PH. For an incremental cost of $80.44. So, for $80 you can open up the choice to either go to the parks, or not, for those extra 2 days. You can either add those days now, or you can leave them off, and when you're there, you can add them if you decide you want more in-park time.

If you do decide to leave them off, then alternatives for you to consider:
  • Disney Springs: Lots of dining options, shopping, and maybe take in a Circ Du Soliel show or something.
  • If they're running, most of the other dinner shows (Hoop-Dee-Do, Spirit of Aloha, etc...) are at resorts and are good for a non-park day
  • Water parks (It'll be hot ya'll)
  • Resort pool day
And congrats on the nuptials. Wife and I did our honeymoon at WDW as well, though it was 4 years after we were married.

Both. Sleep in some days and do the parks later in that day. We did that in 2016 and worked real well. We went to the parks 8 straight days but never felt tired. Some days only a 4-5 hours in a park. FP+ makes this strategy pretty easy.

Water parks would be good since you are going in the summer. There is a new "water parks and sports" option that can be a good value if you plan to do both water parks.

7 days is so easy to fill up at Disney. We were there 10 days for our honeymoon and still found we couln't fit it all in. ( Although we did the easy into the day and got to the parks around 1130a vs. rope dropping ). With the extra time, I'd plan a resort day. Sleep in, hit the pool and then maybe mini golf or Disney Springs.
