Changes to House of Blues

I think the new menu sounds really good. Personally, I would give it a shot. Things change. It stinks, but it happens.

Fairly common in chain restaurants. Their data says some items are less popular across the chain so they drop them to try something else. Have had it happen several times and my favorite disappears. Stinks but that's how they do their business.

Still, I'd give the new menu a try. They may have come up with a new favorite for you.

In my opinion it just doesn't shout House of BLUES. I use to be excited about going there because the closest one from my house is 5 hours away. But now it's citrus and sweet bbq. It sounds like something from California.

I read somewhere that the Restaurant is now working with Chef Aaron Sanchez (Food Network) and thus that's why the menu changed. I agree, it does seem more Cali than Southern, but I'd be willing to give it a try once to see.

I'm sad too! I really wanted to try their voodoo shrimp, but the new menu deosn't have that. boo!

I mean, Disney is all about theme. People eat at their restaurants because of themes. Like Le Cellier, you're eating in a dungeon or 50's ptc, you're being told to eat your food. I know House of Blues isn't owned by Disney but it was part of that Disney experience for us. They took a lot of our favorite foods off the menu and a lot of the alcoholic drinks we grew to love. House of Blues is supposed to be bluesy type feeling. The artwork and the music they've had on the walls really doesn't IMHO go with the menu they're doing right now. I'd hate to see if they're going to do rehab on all the restaurants they're doing this to. I mean it just seems as if they change the menu then the theme is going to go with it. Not far from now they might start playing Beach Boys instead of Blues Brothers who knows. :confused3

I do fancy Aaron Sanchez from the Food Network, so I am hoping the menu will benefit from his guidance. BUT, we will sure miss the 1/2 price apps. and beer specials that come with happy hour. I'd be sad to see HOB happy hour disappear, as it appears to be something rare in DW and something you probably would find at Univeral Studios. (We love Us btw, but also like DW to have a little edge here and there.)
