Anyone else that was (is) there this week notice the changes to HM? We rode on Tues. night pretty close to closing time and it was all the same. Then when we rode on Wed. morning they had changed the bride. It was no longer the bride with the red heart. It's now a (mostly) hallographic bride talking about "'Til death do us part". There are pictures of her with all her husbands. As you go past them the heads on the husbands in the pics disappear.

Whoa! News to me. If that's permanent then it completely changes the backstory to the whole attraction. Perhaps the bride is now a mass murderer and SHE'S the one who hanged her most recent groom-to-be in the foyer? Kind of an interesting concept, but I prefer the original, theorized story myself. Though of all the HM backstories, I like the one for Phantom Manor the best, with its tie-in to Big Thunder Mountain RR in Disneyland Paris.

Where can you read about these backstories? I've never heard them and want to.

I rode this week with my husband, they did change the bride mid week, she is now part holographic---- she does have an on and off appearing axe in her hands----says till death do us part and laughs, also says "I do,.....I did!" :Pinkbounc ...and the axe appears......she is situated near the end of the bride sequence of stuff.....so you only get to see her in passing....,my husband didn't notice the axe in her hands the first time we went through-----it is neat to see something different.......makes you want to ride multiple times to take it all in. :Pinkbounc

We saw the axe too.. and like you we had to ride a few times before we noticed it. It's almost like you see it out of the corner of your eye.

I have heard that they were making chnges in the attic. I haven't gt the chance to go see for myself. Maybe this Sat. The kids want to take me for Mother's Day. I'll go for that.

There is a book at Disneyland (and on Amazon) called The Haunted Mansion: From the Magic Kingdom to the Movies by Jason Surrell, that is an excellent book by a Disney Imagineer about all 4 Disney Haunted Mansions, their concepts, art, complete ride-thru's and secrets... and it also explains and shows many behind the scenes aspects of the movie. :)

The recent Attic changes in the Disneyland Haunted Mansion I think are really cool!

I've read in a few 'net places that the next HM areas to get show enhancements (in time, to further add an actual storyline to the attraction) are Madame Leota's seance circle and the Hitchhiking Ghosts area.

I'm really looking forward to even more additions/show enhancements in the Haunted Mansion!

Here is a list of the changes they are making to Haunted mansion.
When madame leota says for the spirits from beyond materialize you will see ghostly images

There will be a lot of changes in the attic. filled with gifts and memetos from weddings, and bridal portraits, with the phantom ghost bride being revealed and will speak and revel her own surpirse.

All of the changes are supposed to be complete by early may, so I would assume most are done now. I just talked to my sis and she was just entering the elevator.

The Attic looks pretty much done.. portraits in (and out), tons of china, photo albums, art pieces and expensive items have arrived and are nicely piled about... and the Bride has jumped the track and is now hauntingly quite different and more active on the left side before you are thrown out of the Attic.

It sounds like much work still needs to be done... as of last night the 'seance circle' didn't have any new FX... and looked pretty much the same as it has for years... and Leota was floating nicely (slower than I have seen), but there has been added a new 'tambourine rhythm' to the soundtrack.

This is the book I have too. Awesome, awesome book. I read it cover to cover in just a couple of hours. Funny how I went from the little kid who refused to go on the HM because "it was too scary" to a huge fan of it who'll go late at night and recite everything verbatim along with all the other hardcore fans :teeth:
