Kenny the pirate just posted that fp+ choices are being limited in a new test until year end. Basically you only get one headliner....soarin or tt for example.
If this stays I'll be very unhappy. On site guests need some perks and should get any 3 choices. It's bad enough they remove park hopping and limit to 3.

Where does it say that? Do you have a link please? I would be a very unhappy camper if that's true...

2 familys when together.we had fp+for star wars booked by our sister my wife cant do virual type rides could not change at park .once you book 3 fp thats it can not delete and add another.only 3 allowed a day

Yes epcot only for now but no doubt it'll roll out to other parks if deemed "successful". If they limit resort guests then I'll stay off site next time. Why give disney and extra couple of thousand.

It's not in their best interests to limit resort guests. You still have an advantage over offsite guests by being able to double dip on your FP so you get regular FP as the offsite folk do, as well as your guaranted pre-reserved FP+

For now anyway.

Even if this proves successful, the outcry is likely to be strong enough to give them something to consider. Disney have been sending out surveys to selected guests after using the FP + and MDE system asking for feedback. If you do get one, make sure you voice your opinions!!

You can park hop but fp+ only lets you book three a day at one park atm

I realise the whole MDE FP+ operation is still in "test phase" but with every tweak Disney make somehow they manage to rub a little more magic off the anticipation I am feeling for our holiday next October :sad2: :sad2: :sad2:

Isabel - I totally agree ::yes::

When there was some testing earlier in the year the attractions were grouped and you picked one from each of the 3 groups which restricted your headline attractions. Once the wide spread testing commenced in the summer this had disappeared and I have hoped that it was gone for good.

TBH I wouldn't object if you could pick 2 "headliners" and one less popular ride.

We are going during the this test but I already have my FP+ for our Epcot day booked including TT, Soarin & Maelstrom :thumbsup2 No fiddling or changing now. I was hoping to swap Maelstrom for Character spot as it wasn't an option when we booked. Now we will just head straight there at Rope Drop.

Not looking forward to next July though if this sticks around :faint:

After raving about how fantastic our WDW holidays are to my sister for many, many, many years she is finally going to join us for her 1st visit with her son and new partner next year. I've always stressed that as onsite guest the benefit of EMH and how we make the best possible use of FP and NEVER wait any longer than 10-15 mins for a ride. As all the organising for our trip is going to be down to me I am beginning to feel soooooo stressed about it all ........ I feel as though I've personally let her down :sad1:

It was hard enough getting her to understand that we needed to make ADRs at 180 days out, now explaining that we need to decide what rides we want and we can only select 3 per day and for others we need to wait in the standby line, it's all somehow a bit embarrassing and TBH quite worrying as I really want to make this holiday so special for them for a whole lot of reasons :sad2:

Awwwww... REALLY feel for you! Keeping everything crossed that it all works out fine as you want it to and that you all have a FAB time! :)

In a twisted sort of way, those who haven't done Disney before are not likely to see as many faults as we will. Perhaps in your case it may be better to get a list of attraction that are high priority for your sister and her family and work those into the FP selections without asking her what she wants to ride at what time on what day. There is so much information it's daunting enough without all this. I think you'll do a fabulous job of putting an awesome trip together for them :thumbsup2

I really understand the concerns. This is a once in a lifetime trip for us. I've been 3 times before however and it's never felt this regimented and inflexible. If you change your mind as you get there and the kids prefer ak over epcot you will find it hard to spontaneously change your fp+ and adr's. Plus being able to only book one headliner.
My 4 year old wont Q for an hour and on trips to dlp we used fp for everything over 30 mins. To remove this option seriously impacts. It feels they are slowly removing benefits for onsite guests but I can't understand why.
This test is for disney deluxe. If I was paying extortionate prices for gf or akl I'd be less than happy.

I cannot disagree with a single thing you're saying. In fact I don't think many could argue what you've stated!

I have an advantage (or maybe not - we don't know yet) in that we don't go until next summer. We are also blessed to have been going every year since 2008 so we know it's not a once off trip. I posted this on the Touringplans blog earlier in the week, but will repeat it here: How do you tell someone who's scraped their savings and planned for years "sorry" when they don't get to do the things they had been told they could when they booked? How do you fix that after the fact? You can't.

I am trying to be positive about my own trip because I have time to play with. For the avoidance of doubt, I am not downplaying how important this is and what an enormous negative impact potential it has on those of you going sooner. I can only wish you the very best and hope that it works out better than expected :goodvibes

I am very thankful for the fact we get to travel twice a year.

I am not overly concerned about FP in December as the crowds will be lower the first week we are there which means standby lines should be manageable.

I feel for the once in a lifetimers though - I always have the cushion of knowing we will be back.

I agree it is the one in a lifetimers that will bear the brunt and that's my sister. There is absolutely no way she will ever pay this kind of money to go again. As it is I'm using all my VA miles to "buy" them their flights and my Xmas prezzie to her is going to be a Disney giftcard. I am thankful that we're not going till next October so by then we will have a very good idea of how best to "play" the system.

As usual I worry about those who have used a TA and not found us Dissers or Allears or any of the other fantastic website/forums out there as I really don't imagine any UK TA giving useful advise about FP+ they can barely manage advise about booking ADR's and they've been in use for years
