Hi Folks

I've just done a survey on reactions to a new look and feel DLP Booking Website. Sounds like a survey similar to ones OP have done in the park???

It looks much more slick and modern, and gives many more options for spending money!!! Making it easier to book extras (like premium rooms, Fast Passes and dining options and rather interestingly prices out the hotel and tickets separately......)

I thought you'd all appreciate some screen shots of the new proposals, but of course this could change, but it all seemed pretty well thought out and comprehensive!

First was choose your dates and hotel - no real functional changes so no screen shot I'm afraid. (dates I put in were for 23rd Oct 2012 for 3 nights)

Next was your Park Ticket and Options, and this is where it gets more interesting (and pricy of course!)

Then a summary of your hotel and ticket choice
, but shown in such a way as you might like to choose a different hotel and upgrade your Experience

Then an option to add extras

And somewhere in the process was a calendar with prices on it showing what your selection would cost on different dates (v good I thought)

I didn't capture the whole process, but in summary, for those of us used to booking, you can quickly identify the options you would normally choose and skip the upgrades and extras (if you can resist the urge!!). I think it does really hep you to compare packages, esp if you want to weigh up hotel choice vs Experience.

Discuss!!!

Looks good, very user friendly :thumbsup2 The basic package looks very interesting - I like that they're introducing more flexibility to the packages and if they implement this option next year then we might be tempted to try it out as we're not big park hoppers and I'm not sure I'd pay an extra £180 for the privilege. I'd rather use the money to have breakfast at the DLH everyday!

Now that is a good point ....DLH brekkie vs Rockin Roller Coaster.....there may be disagreements in our household!!!!:rotfl:

Just out of interest how many people was the mock booking for? I'm curious to compare it to one made on the current website.

Interesting ::yes:: I especially like that you can compare nearby dates/prices - thanks for posting the screenshots. :goodvibes

Oh, me too! :goodvibes It is such a pain to keep trying different dates to get the best prices, I've always wished they would show this. Thanks for posting it all.

Very interesting. I like seeing what's available for around your dates, and at all the different hotels. I like this.

Thanks for posting :thumbsup2

Just looked again.

I wonder what the rooms are 'Disney character themed rooms'. I know santa fe and SL have been refurbed with Cars and Bambi. Wonder what they'd do at NPB and HNY?

Very interesting - thanks for posting.

Not sure I like the fact that you can only pay for instant fastpasses if you buy the half board dining.

The basic package with one park per day tickets looks interesting but surely you would need to give up your EMH privileges on any day that you wanted to visit the studios?

Agree with Ms Poppins that it would be interesting to see what they mean by character themed rooms.

I really like the fact that you can compare prices for different dates though and see the prices for all the different hotels without having to do separate searches :goodvibes

Thanks for taking the time to post this, it does look very user friendly. I'm too wondering about the character theme rooms? as some hotels that's all there is:confused3

I agree it looks good especially being able to compare other dates.

The OP had done the booking for SL - I wonder if just some of the hotels give the option of Disney themed rooms. Theres no mention of Lake view room so I wonder if NY or NPB offer this as an extra instead (I know SL has lakeside rooms but the view is often obscured by trees so maybe they have decided to charge extra for character themed instead

Very interesting - thanks for posting!

I agree with Jothp - I don't like the way they lump some of the extras together e.g. I would like to do breakfast with the characters (not sure what that actually means as opposed to what they offer now at say the DLH - Cafe Mickey maybe?), but I wouldn't want to buy half board due to being a SH/AP holder - does this mean you have to buy them together? :confused3

I guess we'll have to wait and see but I think it will be wrong if they start lumping things together that you have to buy as a package if you only want one element of the extras. At least at the moment you have the choice to take or leave most of the options. However, I do agree currently it needs an overhaul as isn't very user friendly especially for newbies.
