Changes in dining plan? No banking credits?

I am new to this wonderful community so forgive me if this has been asked/clarified already?? We have the dining plan (2 adults/2 kids) for our upcoming trip. We are hoping the system of banking meal credits will still be in place but it sounds as if it may not be?? Does anyone know or recently use the meal plan for a family? THanks in advance.

Update 18 July 2005 We've heard that meals on the plan are no longer pooled into one account. Instead, each person in the room has their own allotment of meals, which they can use in any way. We've asked Disney for confirmation.

I did not find that to be true (last trip 9/1/5 to 9/1/6). I could get my husband a meal on my card or all of us a meal on my card. It was the same pool of credits (1 table meal x nights-stay x number-adults) for instance. If your children are child-menu age, you will be allocated that number of child-menu meals.

Hmm... That was a month ago, and it has not happened yet. Hopefully it won't. That sure could screw up my dining plans in December

Recent (within the last 10 days) dining reports on this board, in this forum, report that credits may be "pooled" and used as required. There were little reports of "child" credits or "adult" credits.

My sister's family just returned last night and they paid out of pocket twice and and once let my niece eat off their plate to allow them 3 "extra" credits to do Hoop Dee Doo Review. They had no problem doing this. The credits on her receipt after each meal did NOT specify credits as adults or children. Now that is as of yesterday - September 15, 2005. We leave October 4th and I'm sure hoping that nothing changes, but we'll just have to wait and see. Hope this helps someone.

Gosh, I hope this holds true until January. We are bringing 1 child, and have no problem paying some OOP if I need to in order to get HDDR, however, it would be nice not to need to.
